Past, Present, Future
The Past
STANDCON emerged in 2020 as a N0H4TS initiative addressing the need for specialized cybersecurity education in Singapore. Beginning with just 50 participants, it featured keynote speeches and workshops on security fundamentals. By 2022, it had expanded to multiple tertiary institutions and introduced specialized tracks. STANDCON established itself as a bridge between academic learning and industry application, while N0H4TS maintained its distinct community-driven identity while providing expertise and industry connections.
The Present
Today, STANDCON serves both tertiary students and mid-career professionals, creating a unique environment where fresh perspectives meet experience. The event features distinguished speakers from government agencies and corporations, delivering specialized content across threat intelligence, OT security, vulnerability research, and enterprise security. Interactive villages offer hands-on experiences in lock picking, hardware hacking, and malware analysis, while workshops provide practical offensive and defensive security skills applicable to current threats.
The Future
STANDCON aims to grow into a distinctive conference with a unique identity in educational exploration. We plan to expand across Asia-Pacific while maintaining our focus on skills development. Future iterations will enhance specialized tracks in offensive research, vulnerability analysis, hardware security, and threat intelligence. We'll develop key partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry leaders to create opportunities for engaging with real-world challenges while remaining accessible to cybersecurity professionals at all career stages.
